You Are Loved, week 1.3 - Zephaniah 3:17

week 1, day 3 SOAP

Scripture~"17 The Lord your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing."

Observation~God loves me so much that He sings for me! I can be happy by staying close to Him.

Application~I need to obey God's commands and faithfully follow Him. If I let Him in, he will comfort me and I will be able to rest in His love. I should not try to do everything on my own when He is a Mighty Warrior on my behalf.

Prayer~Dear Lord, How can I ever be unhappy when I'm surrounded by Your love? Even when I mess up, You love me and rejoice over me with singing. Thank You for loving me for who I am. In His Name, Amen

You Are Loved, week 1.2 - Romans 8:37-39

week 1, day 2

Scripture~"37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, not anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Observation~Paul tells us that it is impossible for us to be separated from Christ. There is absolutely nothing that can keep us from His love.

Application~I am never alone. No matter what, He is with me. Even when FB tries to separate us from our study group, we know that He is with each one of us helping us to overcome the obstacles we face.

Prayer~Dear Lord, Please help me to remember that when I am suffering it doesn't mean You have abandoned me. Instead of being afraid, I will trust Your healing love and know You are with me. In His Name, Amen

You Are Loved, week 1.1 - Psalm 139:7-10

It's finally time to start our study! I'm excited to get back in a Bible study.

Scripture~"7 Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? 8 If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. 9 If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, 10 even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast."

Observation~God's presence is everywhere. No matter where we go or what we do, God is there to guide us. He sees us no matter where we try to hide, and He loves us no matter what.

Application~When I feel like hiding from God because I think I'm not good enough, I need to remember that He is good enough and because He loves me, I am good enough, too. I shouldn't feel the need to hide. The good news is that I can't hide from His guidance and protection. He is always there for me.

Prayer~Dear Lord, I don't want to run from Your presence; I want Your hand to hold me fast and keep me from falling. Thank you for always being there, no matter where I may try to hide. In His Name, Amen

Practice SOAP finish

Finishing the practice SOAP of Psalm 3 and 4, Application and Prayer.

Part 1
S~Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. (NIV)

Part 2
O~David uses the word "surely," which means "without a doubt" according to Merriam-Webster. He has faith that the Lord will love him and always be with him. He has no doubt in the Lord's promises, love, and goodness.

Part 3
A~If God's goodness is truly following me all the days of my life, I should not feel fear or insecurity. The next time I am second guessing or doubting myself, I need to remember His goodness and love, move forward with confidence, and share His goodness with everyone I meet.

Part 4
P~Dear Lord, Please help me to overcome the fear that I am not good enough. Help me remember that Your love is solid and unwavering and all I need. Thank You for the wonderful women who have organized this book club to study Your love, especially our group leader who is giving her time to guide us through the study. In His name, Amen
